No traffic logs · No account · No data sold

No traffic logs.
Nothing to sell.

Most free VPNs pay for themselves by logging where you go and selling it. We don't keep those records in the first place — there is no browsing history on our servers to leak, subpoena, or sell.

The catch, and why there isn't one

Every free VPN is paid for somehow. It is a fair question to ask how, and most providers answer it badly. Here is ours, in plain terms.

How many free VPNs pay for themselves
  • Log which sites you visit and when
  • Sell that history to data brokers
  • Inject or replace ads in your traffic
  • Require an account, tying activity to an identity
How AetherShield pays for itself
  • Ads shown inside the app, never in your traffic
  • An optional paid tier that removes them
  • No traffic log exists to sell — see below
  • No account, no email, no identity to attach

What “no logs” means here, specifically

The phrase is worth nothing without detail, so:

  • The proxy's access log is switched off at the server. Not filtered or rotated — not written. There is no file recording which addresses you reached.
  • Your connection history stays on your phone. The app's connection log lives in local storage on your device and is never uploaded.
  • No account exists. Nothing to link a session to a person, because we never asked who you are.
  • What we do keep: an anonymous install identifier, crash reports, and whether the subscription is active. That is the whole list, and it is written out in the privacy policy.

The honest caveat: no VPN can prove a negative to you, and you should not take any provider's word as proof — including ours. What we can do is describe exactly what runs, keep the list short enough to check, and not ask for information we would then have to protect.

What it actually does

No traffic logs, no throttling, no data brokers in the loop. The list below is what ships today, not a roadmap.

Encryption

Modern, Audited Encryption

Every connection is sealed with AES-256 or ChaCha20, the same ciphers your bank and your browser use. We hold no key that would let us read it.

Security

True Kill Switch

If the tunnel drops, Android blocks every packet until it comes back. Nothing falls through to your normal connection while you are not looking.

Control

Per-App Split Tunneling

Pick which apps go through the tunnel and which talk to the network directly. Banking apps that dislike VPNs can stay outside it.

Premium

Ad & Tracker Blocking

DNS-level blocking works across every app on the device, not just the browser. Available on Premium.

Performance

Auto Server Selection & Speed Test

Auto-select measures latency to each server and connects to the quickest. The built-in speed test lets you check what you are actually getting.

Stealth

Bypass Censorship

AetherTLS makes tunnel traffic look like ordinary HTTPS, which gets through most networks that filter on protocol signatures. No VPN can promise this everywhere, and we do not.

The full list

The controls are there when you go looking for them, and out of the way when you don't.

True Kill Switch

Traffic stops at the OS level the moment the tunnel drops.

Split Tunneling

Keep chosen apps on your normal connection while the rest are tunnelled.

Ad & Tracker Blocking

DNS-level blocking across every app on the device. Premium only.

Auto Server Selection

Pings every server in parallel and connects to whichever answers quickest.

Built-in Speed Test

Measure real download speed through your VPN tunnel without leaving the app.

Profiles & Cloud Backup

Save whole connection setups, and restore them on a new phone with one key.

Connection Log

Duration, protocol and server for each session, kept on the phone and nowhere else.

Custom DNS

Override DNS on a per-connection basis for full resolver control.

QR Code Share

Move a server config to another phone by scanning it. No retyping keys.

Auto-Connect on Open Wi-Fi

Connects by itself when you join a network you have not marked as trusted.

Five Languages

English, Español, Français, 中文 and العربية, with full right-to-left layout.

Real-time Server Status

Live ping latency and load percentage shown per server before you connect.

Three steps, no setup wizard

Install it, pick a server, tap connect. There is no account wall in between.

01

Download the App

Install AetherShield from Google Play. Free, and no sign-up screen on first launch.

02

Choose a Server

Use the shared server, or watch one opt-in ad to unlock the Fast Server for an hour. Premium skips the ad.

03

Connect & Browse

Tap connect. Kill switch activates, traffic is encrypted, and you browse freely and privately.

Two tunnelling stacks

AetherShield runs on two tunnelling stacks. One is tuned for throughput, the other for getting through networks that filter on protocol shape.
